2.Product Description:

Arcing horn, also known as the angle gap, is the insulator protection hardware on the overhead transmission line.
As one of the effective lightning protection devices, the arcing horn is installed at the end of the insulator string with a certain arcing gap. It has a simple structure and is easy to maintain. It is used in conjunction with the automatic recloser in the system to ground the lightning current in time. It can also provide uninterrupted power supply to users, thereby preventing flashover on the surface of insulators, protecting electrical equipment, and maintaining the normal operation of lines.

Structure of the arc horn:

(1) Rod shape.

Throw two rod-shaped electrodes made of round steel with a diameter of 8-20 mm facing each other, and keep a certain distance between them to form a discharge gap.

(2) Spherical.

In order to alleviate the defect of the stick-shaped electrode, two metal balls are installed at the end of the rod to form a spherical gap, but the electrode burn cannot be completely ruled out.

(3) Claw shape.

This electrode is made in the shape of double claw or single claw. When the gap is discharged, the arc is formed at the nearest place to the electrodes, and then the arc formed on the upper part of the horn-shaped gap is rapidly elongated. This arc is generally easy to be extinguished. The end of the horn gap, and the smallest gap distance will not burn, so as to ensure the next correct action.

(4) Ring or tennis racket shape.

(5) Gap can be adjusted.

As the name suggests, the main feature of this gap is that the gap can be adjusted, reducing product design specifications and facilitating standardization to meet design and installation area requirements.
